About Us
My name is Josh Downs, and I am the proud owner of JD Hardwood Flooring. My wife and I, both natives of Marquette, met during our college years—she attended MTU and I, NMU. We are the happy parents of two dogs and have no intention of leaving our beautiful hometown anytime soon. Our love for the outdoors is reflected in our hobbies, which include mountain biking and skiing. On days with heavy snowfall, you’ll find us at our favorite spot, Mount Bohemia, in Keweenaw.
I founded JD Flooring four years ago, following my graduation from NMU with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. My college years were enriched by working for several local flooring companies, where I gained invaluable experience. Over the years, I have continuously expanded my knowledge and skills, always striving to improve. The flooring industry is ever-evolving, and I dedicate significant time to researching new machinery and products. This commitment ensures that I can offer the best results and services to my customers.
